Meet Teacher Progression Requirements
All undergraduate and second degree students who wish to complete an initial teacher certification degree must meet the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development (FSEHD) teacher progression requirements. To be eligible for progression, candidates must meet FSEHD and program-specific requirements.
Undergraduate Teacher Candidate Progression
Meeting with Advisor
Schedule regular meetings with your advisor to review your program Rhode Map and All student teaching requirements (example: courses, required GPA, passing Praxis scores).
Complete All Required Courses and Praxis Exams
RIDE Praxis Test Requirements and Qualifying Scores
- Praxis Exams: Meet with your advisor and review your program Rhode Maps to determine when to complete the Praxis exams required for student teaching. Teacher candidates must take ALL Praxis Exams required for their program prior to student teaching.
- Preparing for Praxis Exams: RIC's Learning Labs and Tutorial Services provides tutoring services for students preparing to take Praxis exams.
