As a department within the Division of Administration & Finance, Information Technology Services (ITS) supports RIC's online administrative systems, network connectivity, telephones, event management systems, cybersecurity systems, email, classroom and lab services, learning management systems, lecture capture, training, and other technology related services.
What We Do
The department of Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the support of academic and administrative functions including planning, management and direction of technology initiatives at Rhode Island College.

Our Departments
ITS directly oversees the following departments:
- Information Security – ensures the security and confidentiality of our technology systems and information
- Management Information Systems – manages RIC's administrative systems (ex: MyRIC portal, Campus Solutions, HR's database, financial systems)
- User Support Services – assists and trains the campus on devices and software like Blackbaud LMS
- Help Center – answers questions on classroom, desktop, network, telephone, and audiovisual technologies
- Instructional Technology – assists faculty in realizing their technological teaching and learning goals
- Network and Telecommunications – maintains the Ethernet, WiFi, telephony, Emergency/Blue Light and elevator phones, door access hardware, burglar/panic button alarms, security camera hardware, and Internet access.
- Student ID Office – creates and replaces ID cards while overseeing their function and access

Understand the Departments Within ITS
Information Security
It is the responsibility of Information Security to ensure the security and confidentiality of covered information; protect against anticipated threats or hazards to the security and integrity of such information; and protect against unauthorized access or use of such information.
Management Information Services
Management Information Services is responsible for providing technical support for all administrative functions at Rhode Island College.
User Support Services
User Support Services (USS) is responsible for all end user client devices, training, the college LMS (Blackboard), academic computing including walk-in labs and instructional classrooms, and the college Helpdesk.
