Evaluation of the Student Teaching Experience
Overview of the Student Teaching Experience
The FSEHD student teaching handbook is designed to help guide FSEHD student teachers through the process and policy of student teaching. However, the student teaching experience and the growth towards readiness depends on a number of factors, including the nature of the student teaching site, the effectiveness of the mentors, the cooperating teacher/clinical supervisor, and the college supervisor. In addition, the pre-practicum program experience prior to student teaching also contributes to readiness for the work in preparing the teacher candidates for the planning and execution of effective lessons and classroom management. The FSEHD collects survey feedback from teacher candidates, cooperating teachers/clinical supervisors, and college supervisors to help evaluate these factors.
