The Writing Board is committed to fostering a strong culture of writing across our campus by providing resources, guidance, and support to departments, programs, and individual faculty members.

Our Mission

The Writing Board oversees the policy, implementation, and assessment of the Writing in the Disciplines program. Additionally, we offer input on new and existing campus-wide writing initiatives, sponsor faculty development opportunities, and collaborate with key campus units such as the First Year Writing Program, the Writing Lab, the Committee on General Education (COGE), and the First Year Seminar Program. We also maintain a website that offers valuable guidance in the instruction of writing.
