Accommodation Requests and Procedures

Requesting Accommodations

Students requesting adjustments, modifications, or services related to a disability need to register with the Center for Disability Access to determine eligibility.

Testing Accommodations

Testing accommodations ensure equal access for students with disabilities by adjusting the testing environment, such as extended time or reduced-distraction settings. After registering with the Center for Disability Access, students need to schedule their exams in advance to utilize their accommodations.

Housing Accommodations

The Center for Disability Access assesses reasonable housing accommodations for students who have a qualifying physical or psychological impairment and are eligible to reside in college housing.

Requesting E-Text and Audio Books

Students registered with the Center for Disability Access who have documented print disabilities or certain mobility impairments may request course materials in audio, electronic, or other alternative formats.

Assistive Software and Equipment

Assistive software and equipment support equal access for students with disabilities by providing tools such as screen readers, speech-to-text programs, and adaptive devices to help with reading, writing, and navigating technology.

Unique Accommodation Considerations

These accommodations address individual student needs that may fall outside typical accommodations, including support for temporary injuries, study abroad experiences, reduced course loads, and placement setting accommodations (e.g., internship, practicum, student teaching, clinical).
