The demand for mental health professionals has never been greater. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health concerns have risen dramatically, with many individuals seeking support for anxiety, depression and other challenges. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment in fields related to mental health, including clinical psychology and counseling, will grow 18 percent through 2032 – well above the 3 percent average for other professions.

As mental health continues to be a cornerstone of well-being, pursuing an advanced degree at RIC gives you the chance to get started in a stable industry and also make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

According to the National Institute for Mental Health, only half of Americans with a mental illness receive treatment, and according to the American Psychologist Association, more than half of mental health professionals report having no openings for new patients and a growing wait list. The need for compassionate mental health professionals is constant and urgent, making this field one of the most dependable.
