Director says RIC’s program is designed with student success in mind.

Rhode Island College has been cited as having “one of the best nursing master’s programs for your money” in 2025, according to Money Magazine’s annual rankings.

RIC’s program, which received four stars on a five-star scale, was calculated by weighing quality against costs. Focus was on annual prices, debt burdens, employment rates and recent graduate salaries.

M.S.N. Director and Chair Debra Servello says the program is designed with student success in mind.

“We offer small class sizes for personalized learning, cost-efficient tuition and consistently high certification pass rates,” she says. “Additionally, our HyFlex courses allow students to have the flexibility to choose how they learn best: in person, online in real time or asynchronously at their own pace.”

RIC students who pursue a M.S.N. degree can select one of three concentrations: adult/gerontology acute care clinical nurse specialist; adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner; or population public health nursing. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

While compiling its list, Money Magazine noted that nurse practitioner jobs, which require a master’s degree, are projected to grow by 45 percent in the next decade.
