Lactation Rooms and Requesting Access

Lactation rooms are located in many buildings across campus and are available to students, employees, and guests of Rhode Island College.

Lactation Room Locations

  • Location: Room 118
  • Hours: 8:30 am–4:30 pm, though arrangements can be made to provide access later in the day.
  • Availability: This room is available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Check in: To access the key to 118, please use the sign out binder located in the School of Nursing suite, in Fogarty Life Sciences room 157.
  • Refrigeration: A shared refrigerator is available in the lactation room. Please label and date all milk stored in the refrigerator.
  • Sink: A continuously running sink is available in Fogarty Life Sciences room 137.
  • Location: Room 119
  • Hours: 6:30 am–10 pm
  • Availability: This room is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Check in: No check in required.
  • Refrigeration: A shared refrigerator is available in the student lounge. Please label and date all milk stored in the refrigerator.
  • Sink: A continuously running sink is available in the student lounge.
  • Additional information: Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are available in the lactation room for use. 
  • Location: Room 3A/3B
  • Hours: 8:30 am–4:30 pm
  • Availability: This room requires day-of reservation. Call 401-456-8055 to reserve Brown Hall Suite 120.
  • Check in: Please check in with front office staff upon arrival.
  • Refrigeration: A lab refrigerator is available. Please label and date all milk stored in the refrigerator. Milk must picked up by 4pm on the day it was expressed.
  • Sink: A continuously running sink is available.
  • Location: Room 105
  • Hours: 6:30 am–10 pm
  • Availability: This room is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Check in: No check in required. A door code will be provided to you upon submission of the Lactation Room Request Form.
  • Refrigeration: A shared refrigerator is available in the lactation room. Please label and date all milk stored in the refrigerator.
  • Sink: A continuously running sink is available in the lactation room.
  • Additional information: A microwave is available in this lactation room.
  • Location: Room 21
  • Hours: 9 am–6 pm, Monday–Friday
  • Availability: This room is available on a first come, first served basis.
  • Check in: No check in required.
  • Refrigeration: A shared refrigerator is available in the Unity Center. Please label and date all milk stored in the refrigerator.
  • Sink: A continuously running sink is not available near this lactation room, but bathrooms are located outside of the Unity Center.
  • Additional information: Guests who wish to use the Unity Center lactation room are asked to contact staff in advance to coordinate access.
