How We Communicate During Emergencies
Rhode Island College recognizes that effective communication is essential during emergencies. Because no single communication method reaches everyone, the College uses multiple notification systems simultaneously to quickly share emergency information and protective actions with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
RIC Safe App
The RIC Safe App is Rhode Island College's official safety and emergency preparedness app. Designed specifically for the RIC community, it provides immediate access to emergency notifications, campus safety resources, and tools that help keep you informed and connected wherever you are.
CodeRED Emergency Notifications
Rhode Island College is located in both the city of Providence and the town of North Providence. While the College uses RICAlert and the RIC Safe App to communicate campus emergencies, we also encourage students, faculty, and staff to register for CodeRED notifications from both municipalities.
