Throughout the academic year the Center for Instructional Technology offers events/trainings for both faculty and students. Take a look at our numerous offerings already scheduled for August and September.
Per the Online Learning Policy, starting with the Spring 2026 semester, faculty members must have completed Blackboard Ultra Professional Development with the CIT to be scheduled to teach a fully online or hybrid course. The required PD workshops are: Getting Started with Blackboard; Assignments, Inline Grading & Rubrics; Creating Online Tests; Mastering the Gradebook, Communicating with Students; and Designing for All Learners: Digital Accessibility in Blackboard and Kaltura. There are also required courses that must be completed through the FCTL. For more information, please email the FCTL at fctl@ric.edu.

Together we'll aim to fix as many accessibility issues as possible in Blackboard using Anthology Ally. Every fix, big or small helps create a more inclusive learning environment for all RIC students.
