Speak with your faculty members
You should speak with each of your faculty members at the start of the semester and plan how your testing accommodations will be implemented. (ex. Taking it with your faculty or scheduling with the CDA).
Testing in the Center for Disability Access
If your professor cannot directly provide your testing accommodations (for example, if there is not a separate space available in their department, or you need to test with assistive technology only available in CDA), and your class has in-person tests, you will generally need to schedule and take your tests in the Center for Disability Access.
Not Testing in the Center for Disability Access
- Your professor indicates that they can directly provide your testing accommodations themselves (i.e. by proctoring your extra time or providing a separate testing room in their department)
- You are a Nursing student whose courses meet off campus at RI Nursing Education Center (RINEC). The RINEC has their own Graduate Assistant and their own process for scheduling your tests with accommodations there. To schedule a test at RINEC email rinec-testing@ric.edu one week ahead of the test date.
- Your class will be taking their tests online, while not physically in a classroom (i.e. through Blackboard from your home for example). Instead, speak with your professor about how your accommodations can be implemented in the online test (for example, by your professor adding your extra testing time within Blackboard).
