Here are some testing accommodation FAQs that pertain to both students and faculty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our scheduled proctoring hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm. All tests must end by 4:30 pm on the scheduled exam date.

A student cannot be confirmed for their scheduled exam without an Alternative Testing Agreement in place from their faculty.

Students are expected to arrive on time. If they arrive more than 15 minutes late, the CDA will contact their faculty. If a student arrives late on the day of the exam, they will not be given additional time at the end of the testing period.

The CDA does offer not proctoring for make-up exams for students who do not have a disability due to illness or other reasons. Space in our testing room and proctoring availability is limited; we must reserve make-up exam proctoring for students registered with the CDA.

Students registered with our office who miss exams may be eligible to make them up with their faculty or the CDA. Students who are approved for a makeup exam should first make every reasonable effort to coordinate makeup tests with their faculty. If the faculty and student cannot identify a mutually convenient makeup time, the student may request a makeup exam with the CDA. All make-ups must start and end during regular proctoring hours, Mon–Fri between 8:30 am–4:30 pm. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate all requests for make-up exams.

Use of the following items in the testing room is strictly prohibited:

  • cell phones
  • smart watches
  • headphones
  • laptops
  • notebooks
  • books
  • pencil cases
  • food and beverages (water in a clear water bottle is allowed)
  • backpacks
  • purses
  • jackets

Test takers are allowed to have bathroom breaks but should be encouraged to use the restroom prior to the start of the exam. The student must leave their testing materials in the room and may not access their belongings.
