Val Herbst is the Coordinator for the Center for Disability Access at Rhode Island College, where she supports students through case management, facilitates the implementation of accommodations in collaboration with faculty, and provides individualized student support. She holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education from Providence College and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. Val’s professional background includes roles in accessibility services at Providence College and Bristol Community College, where she worked with dual-enrolled students with disabilities. She is also an elected board member for New England’s Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) chapter. Originally from California, she also has a degree in Culinary Arts from Santa Rosa Junior College and a background in the restaurant industry. Outside of work, Val enjoys hiking, woodworking, and spending time with her partner and two children.
