Benjamin D Dugas serves as the Coordinator of Assistive Technology in the Center for Disability Access at Rhode Island College. Benjamin meets with students registered with the CDA to evaluate and train them in the use of assistive technology equipment and software as well as process alternative format material requests, manage equipment loans, coordinate accessible furniture placement, and assist with professional closed caption needs for students. Benjamin is a lifelong Rhode Islander and holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in Disability Support Services from Rhode Island College. Benjamin has been formally recognized for dedicating many years of service as an alumnus and employee of Rhode Island College. Benjamin is a long-time active member of the Rhode Island Council on Assistive Technology and has been formally recognized on National Assistive Technology Day for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to raising awareness and supporting individuals with disabilities through the use of assistive technology. Benjamin enjoys dining out, pickleball, bowling, scenic walks/hikes, and exploring state/national parks and botanical gardens.
