Dr. Thomas Balcerski, Department of History, Eastern Connecticut State University will present a lecture on "From Romantic Friendships to Loving Marriage: Towards a Queer History of American Politics." He will examine how queer is the history of American politics? Why did Abraham Lincoln share a bed with another man for 4 years before getting married? How many bachelors have run for president? Who was JFK’s “special friend”? What are the prospects for LGBTQ+ politicians today?
