The Meaning Behind the Society's Logo
The Rhode Island College campus is filled with beautiful trees. One such tree is an approximately 170-year-old oak tree that faces Mt. Pleasant Avenue. This tree was the inspiration for the re-designed Rhode Island College Foundation 1854 Society logo. The trees on RIC’s campus provide both a beautiful landscape and a symbolic reminder of the growth and evolution that takes place at Rhode Island College. We are excited to re-launch our 1854 Society with these themes in mind.
