Often, social work students are challenged with incorporating macro work into this practicum experience. In this workshop, participants will discuss some of the challenges of integrating policy work at their practicum sites. We will discuss innovative ways to integrate macro work in all agency settings. Participants will brainstorm with each other and discuss expectations, ensuring that the macro activities students engage in are meaningful to the student and the agency.

Understand the importance of giving constructive criticism and be able to articulate the importance of giving constructive criticism.  Articulate and demonstrate the components of constructive criticism.  Be able to use the SSW evaluation tool successfully. Provide objective, clear, and growth promoting feedback to RIC SSW Students.

This workshop will be focused on the integration of Anti-Racist practices and decolonization of clinical supervision and management to effectively serve and supervise diverse populations. In this workshop we will examine social justice and anti-racist considerations in clinical program supervision, practicum education supervision, and management. This includes challenging racist and oppressive workplace structures and other organizational settings. We will explore how to integrate anti-racist practices into supervision and identify strategies to decolonized work climates and cultures in order to equitably service all of our service recipients.
