This workshop will provide an overview of the core competencies from the Council of Social Work Education and their connection with the practice behaviors on the Learning Contract.  Understand the importance of giving constructive criticism and be able to articulate the importance of giving constructive criticism. Provide objective, clear and growth promoting feedback to Social Work Students.

This workshop will ask participants to complete two self-care assessments to explore the strengths of their current self-care practice and areas where they would like to grow. Participants will apply this information to work in small groups to develop their self-care plan using simple strategies that they can incorporate into their current, often hectic professional lives. Finally, the workshop will teach breathing and mindfulness techniques for use in various situations to address feelings and emotions.  These strategies can be used easily in the workplace or at home.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of ethical and liability issues that should be addressed in field instruction. Participants will be provided with a typology that can be used to develop meaningful learning experiences for students. Topics such as confidentiality, clients' rights to self-determination, informed consent, boundary issues, violating the law or agency policy, whistle blowing, ethical decision making, documentation and malpractice risks will be covered. Participants are encouraged to bring their own disguised case material.

This workshop will be focused on the integration of Anti-Racist practices and decolonization of clinical supervision and management to effectively serve and supervise diverse populations. In this workshop we will examine social justice and anti-racist considerations in clinical program supervision, practicum education supervision, and management. This includes challenging racist and oppressive workplace structures and other organizational settings. We will explore how to integrate anti-racist practices into supervision and identify strategies to decolonized work climates and cultures in order to equitably service all of our service recipients.
