Incident Description

On February 20, 2025, RIC Campus Police was alerted to the presence of a possible hidden camera in a restroom at Donovan Dining Hall. RIC Campus Police (RICPD) responded and quickly alerted the Providence Police Department (PPD), which immediately launched an investigation. RICPD also conducted a subsequent sweep of every public restroom, locker room and changing area on campus and found no cameras anywhere.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, an employee of Rhode Island College, Dean Faiola, assistant director of dining procurement and resources, was arrested at his home in connection with this incident and is expected to be charged with one felony count of video voyeurism. Faiola was immediately suspended without pay, pending a termination hearing, and RIC Campus Police issued a no-trespass order barring him from campus.

On February 27, Rhode Island College terminated Faiola’s employment. The no-trespass order remains in effect.

PPD and RICPD continue their investigation.
