Honoring and Celebrating at RIC

Rhode Island College is hosting a number of events and opportunities this April to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Nationally, AANHPI heritage month is celebrated in May, but while classes are in session we hope that you'll participate, learn, celebrate, and enjoy RIC's AANHPI heritage month with us!

AAPI Dinner

• Tuesday, April 8 from 6–9 pm, Student Union Ballroom

Join the Asian Student Association (ASA) and Unity Center in celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. 

This free dinner will feature cuisines from various cultures; we'll also have free giveaways and a raffle fundraiser - all funds will go to ASA.

Recent Visit from Filmmaker Andrew Ahn

Andrew Ahn, a queer Korean American filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles, recently visited Rhode Island College for screenings of his two films, Fire Island and The Wedding Banquet, along with question and answer sessions with our students. 

Ahn's visit was made possible through the generous support of the Performing and Fine Arts Commission, Committee on College Lectures, Film Studies Program, RIC Film Society, Anchor TV, Asian Student Association, Pride Alliance, and Unity Center.
