Awards Bestowed at Cap & Gown Convocation
These awards are presented by the Department of English at Cap & Gown Convocation. No application is required.
Jean Garrigue Award
This cash award is given to a graduating senior majoring in English who has submitted a portfolio of creative writing and won the annual competition.
Jennifer S. Cook Award
This cash award is given to a graduating English/education major who embodies the characteristics of a teacher as demonstrated by Professor Jennifer Cook, a revolutionary teacher and writer who saw her work as a calling.
Spencer and Marguerite Hall Award
This cash award is given to a graduating senior majoring in English who has exhibited exemplary scholarship and leadership within the English Department.
Graduate Assistantships
Tuition and stipend is awarded each year to a graduate student in English.
