Alger Cybersecurity

Cyber Security Lab

Select rooms within Alger Hall have been transformed into a cutting-edge cybersecurity range — a hands-on training environment where students can simulate real-world digital threats and defenses. Designed to support collaboration, experimentation, and applied learning, the new space positions Rhode Island College as a leader in preparing students for the rapidly evolving cybersecurity field.

Alumni Field

Alumni Field Panoramic View

Alumni Field has been revitalized to better serve RIC’s student-athletes and campus community. With a new synthetic turf surface, upgraded lighting, and improved accessibility, the field now supports year-round play and provides a safer, more durable environment for training, competition, and recreation. This renovation enhances both athletic performance and campus pride, ensuring Alumni Field remains a vibrant gathering place for years to come.

Black Track

Black Track

The renovation of Black Track brings new life to one of RIC’s most active athletic spaces. Featuring a resurfaced track, upgraded field event areas, and enhanced drainage and lighting, the project creates a safer, more resilient facility for training and competition. The renewed track supports student-athletes at every level and strengthens RIC’s commitment to wellness, performance, and community engagement.

Whipple Hall Renovation

This is a rendition of the proposed Whipple Hall renovation. This building will be a modern, state-of-the-art research, education and training facility for cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

The areas of responsibility of Capital Projects include campus master planning, coordination of a five-year capital improvement program, and assisting in the planning, design, and supervision of construction for all new and existing facilities.​
